The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Thanks for Nothing are delighted to announce that Lizette Chirrime has been selected as the 2025 resident for the Gulbenkian & Thanks for Nothing Residency – Creation and Social Commitment, which will take place in Paris from April 28th to June 28th, 2025.
This residency, dedicated to Lusophone artists from the African continent, celebrates artistic practices that address social and environmental issues. It also aims to foster social inclusion through co-creation workshops.
A Unique Project of Creation and Solidarity
Guided by the shared values of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Thanks for Nothing, and supported by Poush and the Kadist Foundation, this residency offers a framework for artistic exploration at the intersection of creation and social commitment.
Social Inclusion Through Art and Co-Creation
The residency includes a solidarity program that will enable community groups and schools to participate in an artistic co-creation process. Lizette Chirrime, known for her committed and eco-conscious artistic practice, will collaborate with these participants to create a collective artwork.
This creation will be showcased during a presentation at a prestigious Parisian cultural institution.
During the residency, Lizette Chirrime will receive:
- Financial support,
- Furnished housing provided by the Kadist Foundation,
- A studio at Poush, a renowned space for its dynamic artistic community and professional networks,
- Tailored guidance, including meetings with art professionals such as gallery owners, curators, and journalists.
