On the occasion of the Nuit Blanche 2018 and at the invitation of its Artistic Director, Gaël Charbau, Thanks for Nothing proposed an artistic project, targeting themes of solidarity, the greatly appreciated participation brought together more than 450,000 visitors.

Thanks for Nothing presented: a festival of performances met with 12 contemporary artists, 5 NGOs that strive to integrate disadvantaged communities through access to culture and a giant collection of cultural objects to support their actions.

Wael Alkak, Uriel Barthélémi, Alex Cecchetti, Ryan Gander, Valérie Mréjen & Dominique Gilliot, Melik Ohanian, Christodoulos Panayiotou, Laure Prouvost and Noé Soulier offered activities especially designed and made for the occasion.

Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Julien Derouault and the Théâtre du Corps premiered a performance of their latest creation, Lorenzaccio.

Thanks for Nothing also invited the public to meet the 5 NGOs who work in favor of the inclusion of underprivileged populations through access to culture: la Fondation Abbé Pierre, l’atelier des artistes en exil, Bibliothèques sans frontières, Cultures du cœur and Music Fund.

With the support of more than 30 major public and private actors in the art world, Thanks for Nothing has set up a collection of cultural goods on the Pont Alexandre III. To date, more than 35,000 books and than 3,500 musical instruments and Beaux-Arts materials have been collected and distributed to the associations present.

This project was designed by the architects and scenographers Jasmin Oezcebi and Franck Vinsot. Evocation of the inhabited bridges, the Pont Alexandre III was equipped with the devices by the two artists which, visually and symbolically, linked artists, associations, visitors at the two banks of the Seine.

The « Pont des Échanges » benefited from the patronage of Carnibird, the Fondation Abbé Pierre and Le Perchoir and the support of Sogema and Aesop.

An ephemeral bar was installed by Le Perchoir on the Pont of Alexandre III during the event. It was directed by Andrei Panibratchenko with architect Antoine Rocca. The artist Ryan Gander had expanded the Perchoir’s cocktail menu by proposing his creation «10:32, 16 mai 2015, Paris».

The collection of cultural goods was produced in collaboration with: Algam, Center Pompidou, Galleries Art Committee, Éditions Gallimard, Éditions La Découverte, Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, Louis Vuitton Foundation, Agnès B Endowment Fund, Fonds Emerige Endowment, Lafayette Anticipations, MAC / VAL, Red House, Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris, Picasso Museum, and Palais de Tokyo.
