Creation of the Art Artist Assistant Association

From September 2020

Thanks for Nothing, in collaboration with Michel Simon, President of the LINK Endowment Fund, and Jean-Michel Othoniel, artist, took part in the creation of the AAA association.

AAA

This association has enabled young people from the LGBT+ community who are excluded from their homes to have access to a diploma course. In partnership with state-approved training centers, the young people selected were able to carry out paid internships in artists’ studios (Jean-Michel Othoniel and Fabrice Hyber) and thus obtain post-baccalaureate diplomas.

Jean-Michel Othoniel

Born in 1964 in Saint-Etienne, France. Lives and works in Paris.

From drawing to sculpture, from installation to photography and from writing to performance, Jean-Michel Othoniel has, since the late 1980s, invented a universe with multiple contours. Initially exploring materials with reversible qualities such as sulphur or wax, he has been using glass since 1993. His works now take on an architectural dimension and are often found in gardens or historic sites through public or private commissions all over the world.

He is represented by the Perrotin (Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai) and Kukje (Seoul) galleries. His works are kept in the world’s leading contemporary art museums, foundations and private collections.
